NEWS RELEASE: Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service Sets the Benchmark As They Celebrate 500 Apprentices Graduating

The Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service has passed the 500-mark of apprentices completing end-point assessment on the new English apprenticeship standards: at 578 as of 9 October 2018.

Securing the first achievements across all sectors in May 2016, the Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service provides end-point assessment to major utility-based organisations including Cadent, National Grid, SSE, Severn Trent Water, UK Power Networks and United Utilities.

As an employer-led end-point assessment organisation, the Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service provides rigorous and robust end-point assessment to confirm that apprentices can do the job they trained for in specialist, safety critical industries.

Two years on, the Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service will be celebrating its 500th achiever at a reception in the House of Lords, set to be attended by leading political, sector and regulatory figures, training providers and employers, and most importantly, the apprentices.

The 500th apprentice to pass their end-point assessment was Jack Steel, who having completed his apprenticeship is now a First Call Operative for Cadent. First an aspiring Grimsby Town footballer and higher edducation student, Jack changed his career path and applied for an apprenticeship believing that learning and earning on the job was a better fit for him.
